Frequently Asked Questions
01
What makes your classes different?
Our classes have been designed not only to encourage participation, but also to support and improve hand strength and dexterity. Adaptive hand grips are always available for use in our classes. Our curriculum is based on current research in occupational therapy and Dementia/Alzheimers treatment.
03
How frequently do you come in?
We work with you to schedule the classes that fit your facility. We can come in just one week a month or every day, it just depends on what you need. We also occasionally offer booking for events on Saturdays. Please contact us for more information.
05
Is staff support need for activities?
In most cases, additional staff support is not required for the classes. However, sometimes there is more interest in the class than one teacher can handle. In order to best facilitate the activity, large groups require additional staff support. For assisted living facilities, additional staff support is required for classes larger than 10 participants. For Memory care units, additional staff support is required for classes larger than 5 participants.
02
Does the facility have to provide any materials?
No, all materials and instruction is included in the price of the class. That means paint, clay, fabric, canvases, paper, adaptive tools, etc. are all included in the price.
04
Can this replace Occupational Therapy?
No, it cannot. While the class structure and projects have their roots in Alzheimers research and occupational therapy practice, our classes our not meant to replace any needed occupational therapy. Rather, the classes offer a social atmosphere that supports and maintains the work done by licensed Occupational and Physical Therapists.
